Hening’s Statutes at Large, Volume 1, page 373 contains the following snippet:

Armed with the knowledge that Christopher Reynolds was living in Isle of Wight at the time, it is clear that the name written in the original document is Chr: and not Cha:
Note that the rendering of the first name of “Cha: Sparrow” is distinctly different that that of “Chr: Reynolds” and “Chr: Burrows”.
